Damn now I wanna play mgs4 even more. Here’s some additional thoughts (with links to very informative content, if I do say so myself 😁), for whenever you get to play/finish MGS4. People rightfully rag on MGR for ruining his character after 4, but his appearance in 4 also ruins what was built up in 2.

So I've been a fanatic of this franchise for some time now, but I've only just thought of a question that very little seems to ask; To get the best Metal Gear experience, should you play the games in release or chronicle order?
Best part about Raiden is that he is not a perfect character. He’s a former alcoholic, just a kid who is easily underestimated, a former child soldier, a pretty horrible boyfriend, but none of that got in the way of his missions.
This should hopefully put the game in context for newcomers and make it easier to play, since none of this is included in the game itself (fairly standard for 1987). Finally, killing prisoners can make the game impossible to complete, so don't do it.
“I always say this will be my last Metal Gear, but the games in the series that I’ve personally designed and produced… Metal Gear on MSX, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, 3, 4 and Peace Walker, and now Metal Gear Solid V are what constitute a single Metal Gear Saga.
Take the advice of MGS2 and go the fuck outside. Raiden, log out of Reddit right now! Go outside says the guy holding an imaginary argument about a fictional series while employing a lame “no true Scotsman” fallacious argument. I care deeply about the main series, Raiden is my favorite character and I think MGR is consistent with his character. 😘.
The first two Metal Gear games are included, but as "bonus features" buried in a menu for Metal Gear Solid 3. They're also in the HD Collection which came out on PS3/360, but the HD Collection doesn't contain either Metal Gear Solid or Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
