Let me say, the clips help but left a lot to chance, so I thought I'd share my experience on my '04 TJ 4.0, 5 sp. with 104k miles. Drain the oil early so you have less dripping on you.
19 Νοε 2015 · Position your drain pan beneath the drain bolt at the rear of the oil pan. Remove the drain bolt, noting any copper or metal washers on the drain bolt or oil pan. You'll want to replace it if present.

6 Ιουλ 2019 · I just replaced the upper oil pan gasket and have the same exact symptoms after the replacement gasket is in place. I've confirmed there is no timing cover leak and the manifolds are dry as well. By process of elimination, that pretty much leaves the RMS as the culprit.
