8 Νοε 2021 · Hi, I am looking to buy a 4Runner. I am considering a 3rd 4th or 5th gen. All of the ones I find seem to have 200k miles on them. I am looking for something that will be reliable. How many miles do these engines last? and which engine options are best? If an engine is worn out, what do you suggest? rebuild? replace? What does that run?
27 Μαΐ 2022 · Then ask a machine shop what a full rebuild would cost and compare. I would consider a dressed long block or crate motor as a last resort. 16 Σεπ 2013 · Sell it to me and let it be my problem... I'd swap in a used motor and call it a day. For the most part these 5VZ's are pretty damn tough. I bought a used one with over 200K on it for $350. Dropped it into the truck, ran like a champ. The motor swap in these isn't terribly difficult either.
