  1. I strongly prefer David Evans' pka table. Much more comprehensive... http://evans.rc.fas.harvard.edu/pdf/evans_pKa_table.pdf. Edit: Dead Link. As someone who does lots of non-aqueous acid/base chemistry, it might be useful to say what solvent or phase this is in (e.g. p K as in water).

  2. Table of Acids with Ka and pKa Values* CLAS * Compiled from Appendix 5 Chem 1A, B, C Lab Manual and Zumdahl 6th Ed. The pKa values for organic acids can be found in Appendix II of Bruice 5th Ed.

  3. TLDR; Is there a lookup table for the K_a values of acids and bases? I googled the K_a value of nitrous acid (HNO_2) and found all this: 4.6 x 10^-…

  4. When pKa=pH, the acid base reaction is at equilibrium and you will have 50% acid form, 50% base form. The values of pKa and pH tell you how much the molecule and the solvent each “want” the proton.

  6. (f) A solution of methanoic acid is titrated with sodium hydroxide solution. 25.00 cm3 of the methanoic acid solution reacted exactly with 27.40 cm3 of 0.100 mol dm-3 NaOH(aq). Calculate the pH of the resulting solution. [4] Moles NaOH = 27.40/1000 x 0.100 = 2.740x10-3 mol - same as number of moles of methanoic acid and sodium methanoate formed.
