General Information The Philippine Republic's Region IV is comprised eleven provinces with eight cities. Most of these provinces are in the southern part of the island of Luzon. It has subsequently been subdivided into Calabarzon (Region IVA) Mimaropa (Region IVB).

28 Ιουλ 2015 · The borders of Southern Tagalog Region (Region IV) before former President Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo signed Executive Order No. 103, s. 2002 that transfers Aurora to Region III and then dividing further into two (CALABARZON and MIMAROPA regions).
Region IV-B was designated as Mimaropa, which stands for the island provinces belonging to the Southern Tagalog region— Mindoro (Oriental and Occidental), Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan. Region IV-A was designated as Calabarzon. [ 5 ] . Marinduque was a sub-province of Quezon, at that time known as Tayabas; it became independent province in 1920.
Region 4B, also known as MIMAROPA, located at the heart of the archipelago is dubbed as the Treasure Trove of Southern Luzon. The name is an acronym that stands for its provinces, which are: Mindoro Occidental, Mindoro Oriental, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan.
