You must renew your driver’s license every 8 years. Transfer an Out-of-State License to Georgia You must apply for a Georgia driver's license within 30 days of becoming a resident.
You can renew a valid/current Georgia driver's license up to: 150 days before the expiration date. OR. 2 years after it expires. You have the option to renew online, in person, or by mail. Please note, if you are 64 years old or older, you must pass a vision exam.
