On the retractable blade models, push the slider all the way forward and push and hold the blade release button while pulling the old blade out. With the slide still forward, push and hold the blade release button while inserting a new blade.
Blade retracts automatically when it loses contact with material being cut; even when thumb slide is in extended position. Push blue thumb slider as far as possible to expose blade. Keeping the blue thumb slider in forward position, push new blade into handle as far as possible.
The Crescent Wiss® Auto-Retracting Safety Utility Knife retracts automatically when cut is complete, even if slider is in forward position. This feature cannot be overridden under normal use, reducing workplace injuries.
