30 Νοε 2023 · Simon Peter replied, ‘Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life’” (verses 67–68, NLT). The Bread of life is the Word of life, and the disciples recognized this truth. Jesus is the Word of life, the Logos that gave life at creation and gives life in the new creation.
The “Word of life” combines the two truths that (Christ Jesus) is Himself life and that He imparts it, as the life (John 14:6), He is the personal expression of what God is, the interpreter of His nature (cp. John 1:18); but, as He also Himself said, He came that they might have life (John 10:10).
8 Νοε 2019 · The Word is a mysterious and powerful force. It refers to the will of God (Gal 1:4), the truth of God (Jn 17:17), the good news of Jesus Christ (1 Pt 1:25), the decrees of God (Jer 22:29), the Holy Scriptures (Mt 15:6), and the Son of God (Jn 1:14). The Word is eternal.
1 What existed from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we observed and touched with our own hands—this is the Word of life! 2 This life was revealed to us, and we have seen it and testify about it.
20 Φεβ 2023 · Jesus said, “The very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life” (John 6:63, NLT). In the parable of the sower, Jesus compared God’s Word to seed (Matthew 13:1–23). Seed, like the Word, is a living organism that, when spread and planted in fertile soil, produces abundant life.
24 Φεβ 2013 · Jesus Christ is the eternal Word, the Creator of everything, who reveals the life and light of God to this dark world. We cannot know God, who (1 Tim. 6:16) “dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see,” unless He chooses to reveal Himself to us.
1 Δεκ 2021 · Not until 1:14 is it specified that the Word is Jesus, as John writes, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” In verse 1 John had articulated the divinity and eternality of the Word, as well as his distinguishability from the Father, and now he communicates the profundity of the incarnation.
