26 Δεκ 1998 · 11:17. saying: “We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned. John describes God as “Almighty” (1:8; 4:8; 15:3; 16:7, 14; 19:6, 15; 21:22) and eternal (is, was, is to come). God will take this great power and reign.
The full accomplishment has not yet come—the seven last plagues are still to be poured out (15:1–16:21) and Babylon must be defeated (17:1–18:24)—but God’s rule on earth is already decided, and so it is certain and near at hand.

This revelation brings on cataclysmic, loud, bright, heavenly and earthly convulsions: lightning, thunder, hail, earthquake, and noises –earthquake noises, maybe. Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary. 11:14-19 Before the sounding of the seventh and last trumpet, there is the usual demand of attention. The saints and angels in heaven know the right of our God and Saviour to rule over all the world. But the nations met God's wrath with their own anger.
