Revelation 17:14. An abrupt and proleptic allusion to Revelation 19:11-21; the Christian messiah is the true King of kings (a side reference to the well-known Parthian title). This is the first time that John brings the Lamb on the scene of earthly action.
Jesus gives a parable about life and death. He urges His disciples to seek life by entering through the narrow gate that runs counter to the way of the world. The way of the world is commonly traveled but its end is destruction and ruin. An explanation of Revelation 17:14.
What Does Revelation 17:14 Mean? They will make war upon the Lamb, and the Lamb will triumph over them; for He is Lord of lords and King of kings. And those who accompany Him--called, as they are, and chosen, and faithful--shall share in the victory."
David Guzik commentary on Revelation 17 describes the fall of religious Babylon and the ten kings to come, who are allies of the Antichrist.
The leaders described in this passage will make war on God, and experience sound defeat (Revelation 17:7–14). The prostitute John saw is prophesied to be destroyed by the beast and the ten leaders. The woman symbolizes some form of apostate religion, and the beast and kings some form of government.
Here, we are told they will make war with the Lamb. Later, the same conflict will be described as a gathering to “make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army” (Rev. Rev. 19:19 + ). The text provides another indication of the deity of Christ and the essential identity of the Lamb and the Father.
