The State Fair of Virginia is a state fair held annually at the end of September at The Meadow Event Park in Doswell, Virginia. Through 2008, the fair was held at the Richmond Raceway Complex, located in eastern Henrico County, just outside the capital city of Richmond.

Originally known as the Atlantic Rural Exposition Fairgrounds, the circuit held its first race in 1946 as a half-mile dirt track. Set within the grounds of the Virginia State Fairgrounds, otherwise known as Strawberry Hill, the circuit soon rose to prominence, gaining its first NASCAR event in 1953.
