I have gone on two tours with Rick Steves and both have been excellent, well-run tours. The accommodations did tend to vary from city to city, but overall his emphasize on family-run hotels with free breakfasts works well.
Unless you mean that TA doesn't allow those sorts of tours (day/few hours, etc) to have a review page - but, I'm talking about a forum, not review pages. I don't doubt there is a commercial interest issue here (as most things now are on TA) but I am not seeing it clearly with this particular issue.
31 Οκτ 2024 · This situation has left a very bad taste in my mouth about what otherwise would have been a very lovely vacation. So, be forewarned, if there are any issues on your Rick Steves tour, probably anywhere in the world, be prepared for a truly terrible customer experience.
31 Οκτ 2024 · When I complained to Rick Steves Europe, I received a tepid response by phone concluding with “We have spoken with the guide. We are sorry you had this experience.” What about compensation? “We don’t do that.” And, of course, no written apology.
1 Απρ 2023 · We did this tour last year and loved it. If you type “My Way Italy 2022” in the search bar you should get my trip report. We’ve previously done “ Heart of Italy,” “Best of Southern Italy” and “ Best of Sicily” and enjoyed the My Way just as much. We liked the mix of cities and smaller towns.
18 Ιουλ 2015 · What did you like best on the Rick Steves' tours that you were on and what did you like the least? If your answer is in regard to a specific tour, please identify which tour that was. I've done 5 RS tours. Best: Least: The one and only time I had a shared bath (Stechelberg Switzerland, 21 day BOE). I will admit that the hotel location was awesome!
26 Σεπ 2022 · A few tour members would have occasional coughs, but no one complained of symptoms or tested positive while on tour. Everyone (except the guide) who started the tour, ended the tour. Overall: This tour gives glimpses of key areas of Italy, all of them beautiful and interesting. It is bound to create a desire to return.
