7 Απρ 2016 · The right lung has three lobes (upper, middle, lower) comprising 10 segments. The left lung has two lobes (upper, lower) comprising 10 segments. Each segment is supplied by its own segmental bronchus and has a pyramidal shape with the apex pointing towards the lung root.

The right lung is divided into three lobes, superior, middle, and inferior, by two interlobular fissures. One of these separates the inferior from the middle and superior lobes, and corresponds closely with the fissure in the left lung.
6 Ιαν 2024 · The base of the lung is formed by the diaphragmatic surface. It rests on the dome of the diaphragm, and has a concave shape. This concavity is deeper in the right lung, due to the higher position of the right dome overlying the liver. The costal surface is smooth and convex.
