The SDF-2 is difficult to distinguish from the SDF-1, but there are differences. The most obvious one is that the SDF-2 is 40% larger, almost a full mile long. It also has ARMD platforms connected, instead of the SDF-1's aircraft carriers.
The only reason I can think of for piggybacking the SDF-2 onto SDF-1, as some have claimed, would be to use SDF-1 as a first-stage rocket booster to boost SDF-2 into orbit. Michaek Profile
I think you have “#7. The SDF-2 was a Zentreadi Ship” incorrectly described. 1st neither Lisa nor Gloval actually place Lisa’s new command as the SDF-2. It is only assumed to be the SDF-2 given alternate continuities (novels & comics). If Lisa’s new command is decoupled from the SDF-2, it does allow the SDF-2 to be a rebuilt Zentreadi ship.
