1 Ιουλ 2015 · Mechanic was able to take a look today and had the boat running perfectly in 5 minutes. The problem was that one of the spark plugs was dead. It looked perfect, had no carbon build-up, was the right color, etc. Just would not spark. Replaced all 6 to be safe and the boat runs like a top again.
9 Απρ 2021 · I have a new boat build scheduled for for early 2022 and I've narrowed my engine choices down to twin F300s or twin Merc V8 300s. I've comprised a pros/cons list below: I'm really torn. Currently leaning towards the Yamaha but am tempted by the 1.8 mph in the mid-30s capability of the Merc. What would you do?
I use RockAuto all the time for cheap car parts. Is there anything like that for boat parts? Specifically outboard motors. Thanks!
11 Ιουν 2018 · Headed out this morning and once I got about 15 miles offshore, my F300 started surging and became non-responsive to throttle input. I was running around 3500 RPM when this happened. Boat would slow but would not rev back up. I fire-walled the throttle and nothing happened.
23 Ιουλ 2013 · Just picked up my new boat this past weekend and took it out for the first time yesterday. The boat has a new Yamaha F300 4-stroke. About 20 minutes after leaving the marina, when I got the motor above 3000 RPMs, it suddenly cut out and brought us to a sudden halt.
