12 Ιουν 2009 · Rogier van der Weyden. The Master of Passions is a prestigious exhibition on one of the greatest Flemish Primitives, boasting numerous exclusive highlights. There are more than 100 exhibited works – all in mint condition – from 58 renowned collections in Europe and North-America.

Due to the loss of archives in 1695 and again in 1940, there are few certain facts of van der Weyden's life. [3] Rogelet de le Pasture (Roger of the Pasture) was born in Tournai (in present-day Belgium) in 1399 or 1400. His parents were Henri de le Pasture [6] and Agnes de Watrélos.
Rogier van der Weyden was one of the most significant and influential artists of the Flemish Northern Renaissance, along with Jan van Eyck and Robert Campin. He became the official painter of the city of Brussels, and made work for the Duke of Burgundy, ruler of the region at the time.
