In this Instructables, I will show you my 3 techniques of SMD soldering using Hot Air Re-flow Soldering Station, Hot Plate and normal Soldering Iron. I will use SMD Stencil for applying solder paste in first two methods and normal 25W solder iron and solder wire for Hand Soldering.
How to Use a Hot Air Rework Station. Warning: Do not use hot-air on surfaces you don't want ruined. Having a piece of scrap wood or something similar to work with hot-air on is highly recommended. Third hands or other vice grips help tremendously.
You do run some risk trying to reflow surface mount parts (?) with just a hot air gun. It's more practical if you have a single sided pcb to place that on a heat plate at 30-60°C under the reflow temp and use the hot air gun to pull that area up to reach the reflow temperature.
