21 Οκτ 2021 · I have been doing some research on the various Rotella 15w40 oils and have a few question hopefully you all can help with. I have been using the T4 claimed "synthetic blend" for some time and considering the benefits of switching to T5 or T6.
9 Σεπ 2023 · The main difference between Rotella T5 and Rotella T6 is their viscosity. Viscosity is a measure of a fluid’s resistance to flow. The higher the viscosity of a fluid, the thicker it is, and the more resistance it has to flow.
I've seen normal Rotella turn into gummy crud, not sure about the synthetic stuff, but that was enough to change my mind about using it, or Shell diesel oils. Conventional, hybrid synthetic, and fully synthetic. Some would argue for T6 (fully synthetic) and others, like me, would say it doesn’t matter at all.

15 Αυγ 2023 · Shell Rotella T4 is not generally synthetic, although Rotella t4 and t5 Synthetic Mix have recently been developed to meet modern API CK 4 standards for diesel-powered motor oil. It offers the same protection as an SAE 15W-40 and a synthesized blend of massive engine oil.
