26 Φεβ 2021 · According to the labels, the old T4 was conventional, T5 was semi-syn, and T6 was syn. Now that T4 is semi-syn, is T5 needed or does it justify the price difference? Just thinking out loud...
9 Μαρ 2023 · All three Rotella oils - T4, T5, and T6 - are CK-4 and CJ-4 compliant. There are long lists of engine manufacturer approvals for all three (though not Perkins which is understandable). Further, I looked at the data sheet for each and summarized several of the metrics.
9 Σεπ 2023 · The main difference between Rotella T5 and Rotella T6 is their viscosity. Viscosity is a measure of a fluid’s resistance to flow. The higher the viscosity of a fluid, the thicker it is, and the more resistance it has to flow.
20 Δεκ 2021 · #1. I'm starting this thread to compare the two flavors of Rotella 15w40 in motorcycles. Apparently the synthetic T6 was only available in 5w40 for many years, so if you wanted a Rotella 15w40, you were looking at the T4 "Dino" oil.
