This rubric is organized into five Overarching Principles of a STEM school: “Student Opportunities;” “Classroom Environment;” “School Structures;” “School Culture;” and “Community Connections.”
14 Μαρ 2017 · 1. The General Rubric. This type of rubric defines characteristics of a successful artwork. It is “general,” meaning it does not define specific criteria for each project. Instead, it might define characteristics such as “technique” or “craftsmanship” you are looking for in each completed project.
I developed this art grading rubric for middle and high school art projects. It allows student artwork to be evaluated in 5 areas - Elements of Art, Principals of Design, Creativity/Problem Solving, Craftsmanship, and Effort. The teacher can fill in specifically which Element(s) of Art, Principal(s) of Design, etc., that the project focuses on.
Rubric Criteria. I use the following criteria for my rubrics. Understanding Knowledge. This most often relates to the art history or content students are learning during the lesson. For example, students are creating a landscape inspired by Alma Thomas.
The high school rubric can serve as a guide for high schools or other organizations in the design and/or implementation of STEM leading and learning efforts. The rubric may be used to reflect on characteristics of a School/Program and to plan action steps for the future.
Schools who have successfully utilized the Rubric have an opportunity to submit an application providing narrative and artifactual evidence of their schools' distinguished STEM approaches to leading and learning.
The rubric has a comprehensive list of STEM quality indicators. These indicators – a checklist of characteristics that are hallmarks of programmatic quality in STEM education – are based on local, state and national research and public feedback from practitioners, educators, and business leaders.
