25 Μαΐ 2019 · I have a stainless P89DC and need to replace the barrel. Are the barrels "universal" across the various P89 models? Is it simply a remove/replace and check head space procedure?
3 Μαΐ 2006 · If you change the complete upper or at least the guide rod and barrel as a unit it should work in any slide/frame. Here is my post for earlier this year. With all the crazy prices of late maybe I'm low in price now.

This picture thread was made with a 1993 P89 Frame that recieved a Mid 2000s parts kit, The slide break down was done on the original 1993 slide
10 Ιουλ 2020 · You can see that the original 9mm barrel (on the left) has flat lands or shelves that rest down inside the frame slide rails. The angled surfaces of the .30 Luger barrel prevent it from dropping into this recess and the hood of the barrel will not clear the slide.
12 Οκτ 2001 · The bottom line is this: You should be able to achieve 3" groups from your P85/P89. If you can't, Ruger had (and presumably still has) a fix for it, involving some massaging of the slide-to-barrel relationship, particularly in the bushing area.
