  1. Now that you have been admitted to RutgersNew Brunswick, you will need to take placement tests to determine your preparedness in a subject area (math, English, world language). The placement tests serve a different purpose than standardized exams and tests in school.

  2. THE PROGRAM. The three majors currently offered by SCILS are communi-cation, information technology and informatics, and jour-nalism and media studies. Each major leads to the degree of Bachelor of Arts.

  4. Rutgers (NB) uses the ALEKS PPL (McGraw-Hill) placement test, part of an adaptive learning platform widely used by universities nationwide. Each take of the test allows you up to 3 hours to submit up to 30 open-ended (not multiple choice) questions.
