5 Ιουν 2023 · RAK-SA-12 entered service in mid-spring 2023. The photos show the use of Croatian multiple rocket launchers during exercises. The missile system was developed at the end of the last century by the Croatian company Madlerd.
12 Μαΐ 2023 · Earlier this May the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine showed its RAK-SA-12 towed multiple rocket launchers of Croatian manufacture. These systems have 12 tubes firing one rocket per second in single shot mode or unleashes a salvo of all 12 rockets in 9.6 seconds.
The two stage 9M83 “Type I Missile” / SA-12A Gladiator and 9M82 “Type II Missile” / SA-12B Giant are the guided missiles used by the S-300V / SA-12 system. The missiles are largely common in design, the principal distinctions being different first stage boosters, different control surface arrangements, and numerous detail differences.
The S-300 (NATO reporting name SA-10 Grumble) is a series of long-range surface-to-air missile systems developed by the former Soviet Union. It was produced by NPO Almaz for the Soviet Air Defence Forces to defend against air raids and cruise missiles.
Rockets can not only strike from a distance, but also from high altitudes - making them doubly dangerous. A typical SA-12 formation in the Soviet/Russian ranks consists of up to six of these launchers, each assigned a target acquisition/designation vehicle.
