5 Σεπ 2021 · The valley has two main parts: the Sacramento Valley (north) and the San Joaquin Valley (south); each has particular distinguishing agricultural features (such as soil, hydrology, climate, and economy) that have driven how agriculture and water infrastructure have developed.
Agriculture. The Sacramento River watershed, including the valley and adjacent highlands. Citrus and nut orchards and cattle ranches are common to both halves of the Central Valley. The Sacramento Valley's agricultural industry also resembles that of the San Joaquin Valley to the south.
The Agricultural Utilization Research Institute, or AURI, works to foster long-term economic benefit for Minnesota through value-added agricultural products. Its 2019 New Uses Forum is dedicated to the idea of accelerating innovation and investment.
