The San Bernardino Mountains are a high and rugged mountain range in Southern California in the United States. Situated north and northeast of San Bernardino and spanning two California counties, the range tops out at 11,503 feet at San Gorgonio Mountain – the tallest peak in Southern California.
One of the great things about the San Bernardino Peak hike is the views, and they start right from the beginning. Take breaks to catch your breath and soak it all in. You’ll get great views of Mt. Baldy, Angeles National Forest, and the Santa Ana Mountains as you climb this section.

San Bernardino Peak is the impressive 10,000 foot mountain that looms above the Inland Empire and that many often mistake for San Gorgonio. The hike to San Bernardino Peak is a tough hike that should not be undertaken lightly, but which is worth the training it takes to conquer it.
San Bernardino Peak Trail. This 16 mile (25.8km) hike to the summit of San Bernardino Peak is challenging but rewards you with panoramic views of the Inland Empire and the Mojave Desert. It offers relatively little by the way of crowds so it is a good hike for people that want a bit of solitude.
