To obtain a permit, visit the permit page for the San Gorgonio Wilderness Association, a Forest Service partner. Permits can be requested up to 90 days in advance. Camping. Free permits are available for the 24 backcountry campsites within the Wilderness.
You may obtain your permit in person at the Mill Creek Ranger Station, Barton Flats Visitor Center (summer only), or the Big Bear Discovery Center.

31 Αυγ 2020 · In the San Gorgonio Wilderness, all trailheads now require a wilderness permit for day hikes, and there is a new limit of 144 day hikers per trailhead, per day. Popular destinations in this area include San Bernardino Peak and San Gorgonio , that tallest mountain in Southern California.
Overnight trips: Permits are required by the San Gorgonio Wilderness Association for all overnight trips to the area. You acquire permits by filling out a physical request form and emailing, faxing, or physically mailing it to SGWA.

Two and two-tenths miles further beyond Limber Pine Camp located on the San Bernardino Peak Divide Trail is San Bernardino (10,624′) and San Bernardino East Peaks. The San Bernardino Peak Trail and the Divide Trail both offer outstanding views in all directions.
