Many teachers, schools, and districts have restructured their curriculum to meet these standards. The Science Content Standards make the middle school curriculum more rigorous in response to a national call for excellence and prepare students for in-depth study of science at the high school level.

12 Ιουν 2024 · The SBE-adopted California Next Generation Science Standards (CA NGSS) can be viewed below by grade level Disciplinary Core Ideas (DCI): Life Sciences, Earth and Space Sciences, and Physical Sciences or by grade level Topic (e.g., Chemical Reactions, Structure and Function, or Space Systems).
New York State P-12 Science Learning Standards *The performance expectations marked with an asterisk integrate traditional science content with engineering through a Practice or Disciplinary Core Idea.
The NGSS are based on the Framework for K–12 Science Education developed by the National Research Council. SCONYC has been an active participant in the NY State Consortium for Science Education (See our Science Links tab) since its inception.
The New York State P-12 Science Learning Standards are based on the Framework for K–12 Science Education developed by the National Research Council1 and the Next Generation Science Standards2. The framework outlines three dimensions that are needed to provide students a high-quality science education.
