Winfield Scott Moore III (December 27, 1931 – June 28, 2016) was an American guitarist who formed The Blue Moon Boys in 1954, Elvis Presley's backing band. He was studio and touring guitarist for Presley between 1954 and 1968.

This audition yielded the recording "That’s Alright Mama" and began a 14 year career as Elvis Presley’s guitarist, his first manager and a lifelong friendship (not to mention ushered in an era that would forever change the face of American popular music).
On a break, Elvis began singing “That’s Alright (Mama),” a blues tune by Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup. Bill and Scotty joined in, Sam hit the red button, and rock and roll history was made. Today Scotty is universally known as “Elvis’ guitar player,” but the relationship started out quite differently.
