And so the key to the whole sermon is in Matthew 5:20, where the Lord says, “Unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you’ll not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”. In other words, “To be in My kingdom, you must live up to this standard.”. And He affirms the standard.
