As a DM I've been thinking of having a tavern brawl soon and I was wondering about the mechanics of someone upending a table to use as a shield. Would it be an improvised shield/tower shield (based on it size)? How much AC should a table provide? Should I be able to hit someone with it?
A shield is a piece of equipment that is like armor in that it increases your defenses, it costs 10GP and raises the user’s AC by +2. You must be proficient with shields in order to benefit from the AC bonus and it takes an action to don or doff a shield.
