23 Φεβ 2013 · I accuracy and ladder test at 300 yds, my best group with a Shilen was .202 from a .270 at 300 yds. There are probably a lot of target rifles that would consider this good accuracy. The last rifle that I built with a Shilen was a 7SAUM that shot a .253 group at 300 yds. Both were chrome moly barrels.
24 Νοε 2013 · Most here are convinced that only cut rifled barrels are worthy of consideration. There are a lot of buttoned rifle barrel makers out there (Shilen being one) that produce a barrel that is just as accurate, they are just discounted because of the method in which they are made.
20 Οκτ 2010 · We worked with them over the last year or so on a 7.5T ratchet .224 barrel, and during prototype testing we found them to be very accurate and clean up really easy, same as the 8T ratchets. Also in longevity testing they are holding up extremely well and are maintaining match grade accuracy at 3000+ rounds.
9 Μαΐ 2021 · I have friends that have built & owned CF guns & ML's & SML's with Mcgowen & Shilen barrels on them. But I'm not familiar with Criterian barrels. May I suggest that you look into the value, pros/cons of the difference between " Cut rifle barrels " & " Button rifle barrels " before deciding.
12 Ιαν 2022 · Shillen is about the best button rifled barrel out there. I have them on most of my Savage actions and a Bighorn. They shoot as well as some of the big name cut rifled barrels. 20 Ιαν 2017 · Not sure when they appeared on Shilen's website, but I'd think pretty recently. It calls them the "new AlterNut drop in... Patent pending" etc. It appears to be Shilen's answer to the Rem/Age barrels that a number of other companies are churning out - Criterion, McGowan, X-Caliber to name a few.
