The library has grown from a vision shared by a handful of residents in the early 1970s to one of the largest, busiest, and best-used libraries on Long Island. 29 Αυγ 2024 · The new library will feature an updated indoor performance space with a full stage, ADA-compliant restrooms for public and staff, added and improved security cameras, a lounge area to use laptops and charge devices, and expanded public seating and program rooms in every department.
Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library. We're Building a Better Library System. On December 10, 2019, library district residents voted to approve a $22.7 million bond to make much-needed improvements to our main library building and construct two satellite branches in Mastic Beach and Moriches.
4 Μαΐ 2023 · The opening of the new Moriches satellite branch represents this year’s second milestone in an overall multi-project expansion of Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library services. On Jan. 14, the district opened a new, 7,000-square-foot Mastic Beach Satellite Branch at 369 Neighborhood Road.
The Mastic Beach Satellite Branch is 7,000 square feet on one level with ample parking, an outdoor program space, and a soon-to-be-developed library park across the street. It offers a streamlined and convenient library experience for local residents on Neighborhood Road with an abundance of natural light throughout the building.
