Windows Vista offers a useful feature for managing files and folders, called the Folders list. The Folders list displays the window in two panes, or frames, which allows you to view information from two different locations.

You can display a hierarchical list of all the folders on your system in the Navigation pane. To do so, click the arrow next to Folders in the Navigation pane. This is similar to the Windows Explorer in previous Windows editions.

File Explorer will immediately show hidden files ( the .GamingRoot file , for example) and will remember this setting until you change it.
