Please, show me Your glory: Moses won a “yes” answer from God when he asked for the special presence of God to remain with Israel on the way to the Promised Land (Exodus 33:12-17). He also won a confirmation of the promise from God and an affirmation of close relationship.

Clarke's Commentary. Verse Exodus 33:18. Show me thy glory — Moses probably desired to see that which constitutes the peculiar glory or excellence of the Divine nature as it stands in reference to man. By many this is thought to signify his eternal mercy in sending Christ Jesus into the world.
In Exodus 33:19 the focus is on the gracious action of God — that he does what he does without anything outside himself determining his choices. This is what God reveals about himself when Moses asks to see God’s glory. The Glory of God Is His Sovereign Freedom.
