3 Αυγ 2023 · Several years ago I picked up a partially completed Sig Miniplane kit at a swap meet. The airframe was built for an IC engine. The old covering had to removed and damage to the wood repaired.

19 Αυγ 2009 · The Hog Bipe is more aerobatic and the longer tail moment makes it a lot easier to get in the air. The Mini is a ground looping queen! The looks of the Mini are better (At 44"wingspan, it is truly 1/4 scale). It flies like it thinks it is a 110" monster.
9 Σεπ 2013 · Introduced by Sig in the mid ‘70s and still in production, the Mini Plane struggles to hide its vintage. It is, quite simply, a superb example of a ‘70s US R/C kit. It has some charm though, and brought back memories of watching father build his Sig Piper Cub, some thirty years ago!

13 Ιαν 2022 · Got started on a Smith Miniplane by Sig. Got the fuselage halves together and the firewall epoxied on. Also got the vertical stab and ruder framed. This mini is going going to be glow powered with an OS 46 FX. Radio gear will be Spektrum. Servos are going to be Hitec HS-255’s. Nice plane and kit.
Powered by a 100hp Lycoming, the tiny Miniplane cruised at 120 mph, climbed at a fantastic 2,500 ft. per minute, and was highly aerobatic. It was just what many sportsman pilots were looking for! In 1974, Glen Sigafoose, then President of Sig Mfg. Co., acquired a complete Smith Miniplane to use for aerobatic practice.
