Will you be able to do all or the most important single player menu commands as on pc and Xbox such as structure collision and boosted stats. And lastly will you be able to use any community mods or admin commands.
There's so much modern morrowind culture in mods that introduce DLCs better, various small graphical tweaks, etc. I'm also surprised you didn't find a UI mod for OpenMW, afaik it has had controller support for a while.
The Anniversary edition adds Bethesda approved mods or Creations from modders bundled into a DLC. The Special edition is the base game. The Anniversary edition DCL upgrade just gives you access to all creation club mods at a greatly discounted price.
