The gcode produced by Slic3r is tailored to particular types of firmware. The first step prompts for the firmware that the printer uses. This should have been specified when the printer was built or configured.
Slic3r can be downloaded directly from: https://slic3r.org/download or https://github.com/slic3r/Slic3r/releases. Pre-compiled packages are available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Windows users can choose between 32 and 64 bit versions to match their system.
Slic3r is mainly a toolpath generator for 3D printers: it reads 3D models (STL, OBJ, AMF, 3MF) and it converts them into G-code instructions for 3D printers. But it does much more than that, see the features list below.
1. Step 1 Download Slic3r. Visit: Slic3r. For this guide, version 1.3.0-dev for Windows is being downloaded and used. There is also a Mac OS X (10.7+) and Linux version available. Add a comment. Step 2 Download SeeMeCNC Slice Settings. Download and extract the SeeMeCNC Slicing Profiles.
This is handy if you want to clone a Slic3r setup from one computer to another, or make a backup. Import Configuration from GCode. If you want to use the same settings/configuration from model B in your model A, you can do so by simply importing the GCode-file from model B.
