The Sniper's primary weapons do not produce reload sounds from the perspective of other players. During the Sniper's melee taunt where he doffs his hat, there is a positioning issue with some cosmetic items on the Sniper's head.
The Sniper uses a kukri (a Nepalese machete) as his melee weapon of choice, which deals average damage for a melee weapon; it can be used to easily take out enemy Spies if they attempt to sneak up on him.
Melee Weapon Usage. Sniper melee usage is rare, but often effective. The stock Kukri deals little damage compared to others, and is rarely useful.
Hailing from Australia to New Zealand and raised in the unforgiving Australian outback, the Sniper is a tough and ready sharpshooter. The Sniper's main role on the battlefield is to stick to the high places and pick off the enemy team (especially the dangerous ones).
The Sniper Rifle is the Stock primary weapon for the Sniper. It's a single-shot, bolt-action rifle with a wooden stock and a massive scope, with a laser sight attached underneath. This weapon's main ability is its scope. Right-clicking (or pressing your special ability key) will make the Sniper use the scope, and will reduce your speed to 27%.
Melee weapons are always available (except for the Spy-cicle, which melts when the player is hit by fire) and do not consume ammo upon use. All stock melee weapons (except for the Scout 's and Spy 's melee weapons) function identically, dealing 65 damage and swinging in 0.8 second intervals.
