The Philippine stock market has undergone a number of reforms and development since the 1990s. These include the unification of two stock exchanges, the demutualization of the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), and the enactment of the Securities Regulation Code.
Philippine Stock Market in General. The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), housing 264 listed firms, is the main insti-tution for initial public offerings and sec-ondary market stock trading.
The social enterprise movement is gaining growing support in the Philippines. The country is also among the lead countries that actively promote social enterprises in Asia.
A 2018 survey by the European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA) finds that the European social investment sector continues to grow with EUR 767 million (USD 862 million) invested in close to 12,000 SPOs in 2018.5.
The Social Investment Landscape in Asia will be an invaluable resource for funders and resource providers as they assess the opportunities and challenges for philanthropy and social investment in the region.
