Opened in 1983, Sonoita Vineyard is the oldest commercial vineyard and winery in Arizona. Their tasting room is high up on a hill overlooking the long driveway in and the surrounding vistas. They have several wines, including a dry Riesling, a Sauvignon Blanc, a Zinfandel/Sangiovese blend, a Syrah, and a Cabernet/Merlot/Syrah blend.
While the wineries of Sonoita and Elgin may not be as well-known as the giants in California, these are some of the best wineries in the United States. Indeed, they produce distinctive wines, offering locals and visitors alike a one-of-a-kind Arizona tasting experience.
