You can fill out an online application for a burn permit here by selecting your county and clicking ‘Go!” You can contact your county forest ranger here, or scroll down to check our county directory which is organized by District and County.
Can I still get a burn permit online? No, the application requires use of an email address to send your permit. If you don’t have an email address, feel free to use email of a colleague, family or community member who may be willing to help.
On the NC Forest Service website, you can easily fill out the permit application, receive the permit via email, and even print it if necessary. Alternatively, if you prefer a hard-copy permit issued by the Denver Volunteer Fire Department, we are happy to assist you.

Leaves, branches, and other plant growth can be burned under certain conditions. Violators can be fined up to $25,000 or more. (Source: NC DEQ) The North Carolina Forest Service provides an online application process to obtain a Forestry Burn Permit. Access the online application here.
