The Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) is proposing the West Lake Corridor Project as a southern branch extension of the existing South Shore Line (SSL) to reach high-growth areas in Lake County, Indiana.
10 Απρ 2022 · This proposed development will be a southern branch extension of the existing South Shore Line intended to reach high-growth areas in Lake County, Indiana. The West Lake Corridor Project will bring four new train stations to the area, with stops located in Hammond, Munster, and Dyer.
Traveling north from the southern terminus near Main Street at the Munster/Dyer municipal boundary, the Project would include new track operating at grade on a separate ROW to be acquired adjacent to the CSX Transportation (“CSX”) Monon Subdivision railroad in Dyer and Munster.
