31 Δεκ 2014 · This document reviews the design status of the SP-100, heat pipe space nuclear reactor system. It also identifies those systems and components requiring additional research to support continued SP-100 system development.
The SP-100 program develops, validates, and demonstrates the technology for space nuclear power systems in the range of 10 to 1000 kilowatts electric for use in future military and civilian space missions.
[Historical] SP-100: a U.S. R&D program for nuclear fission reactors usable as power systems for spacecraft. Started in 1983 by DARPA, DOE, NASA/JPL, and other agencies, ending 1994. Many key technologies were successfully tested, laying groundwork for contemporary small reactor development.
1 Απρ 2003 · The SP100 space nuclear reactor was designed for use as an orbital power supply, lunar or Martian surface power station, and power supply for nuclear electric propulsion, with a scaleable power range of 10's kWe to 100's kWe.
SP-100 (Space reactor Prototype [1]) was a U.S. research program for nuclear fission reactors usable as small fission power systems for spacecraft. [2] It was started in 1983 by NASA , the US Department of Energy and other agencies.
