This one is possibly the most reliable on the list, but has the obvious drawback of requiring a 9th level spell.
Choose one creature that you can see within range to make a Constitution saving throw. If it fails, the target is either blinded or deafened (your choice) for the duration. At the end of each of its turns, the target can make a Constitution saving throw. On a success, the spell ends. At Higher Levels.
You can still target a creature with spells if you know its location and the spell does not explicitly require you to be able to see the creature. This means that attack cantrips, Sanctuary, Cure Wounds, AoE spells, etc. still work just the same as if the dark or obscured area was not there at all - you roll normally.
22 Ιαν 2023 · As a player, the easiest way to get access to the blinded condition is through spells. Many spells offer blindness as part of their effects, if not the focus of its effect to begin with. Here are some examples of the spells that let you get the blinded condition onto your foes:
On a failed save, a creature can't speak a deliberate lie while in the radius. You know whether each creature succeeds or fails on its saving throw. An affected creature is aware of the spell and can thus avoid answering questions to which it would normally respond with a lie.
