In Manitowoc, you can experience Lake Michigan by taking a one-of-a-kind cruise across the waters aboard the S.S. Badger: Lake Michigan Carferry! Sailing from mid-May to mid-October, the 410-foot S.S. Badger is one of the last coal-fired steam engine car ferries.
Each crossing takes 4 hours and we pass between Eastern (ET) and Central (CT) Time. Enjoy a two-hour cruise from Ludington, Michigan or Manitowoc, Wisconsin. The S.S. Badger car ferry travels across Lake Michigan between Manitowoc, Wisconsin and Ludington, Michigan once daily during the spring and fall seasons. Once summer is underway, the Badger makes two round-trip crossings daily.
