From the pristine beaches of the Guana Tolomato Matanzas Reserve in Ponte Vedra to Anastasia State Park, St. Augustine Beach and south to Crescent Beach, surfcasters will find rich opportunities to catch drum, whiting, pompano, and more.
Anastasia State Park features four miles of white quartz sand beaches and is one of Florida’s most popular parks. The park’s protected wildlife area and trail systems attract birders, bicyclists, fishermen, surfers, and of course, sunbathers. And the sunrise here is spectacular.
The park is very close to St. Augustine, go out the parks front gate and turn right and over a bridge. Once over the bridge make a right turn and drive to the FORT'S parking lot. From this parking lot the old town of St. Augustine is walkable.
Located off A1A, and just 1 1/2 miles from historic downtown St. Augustine, Anastasia has everything for the active park visitor. The park boasts a broad beach flanked by sand dunes and a lagoon bordered by rich tidal marshes.
