The St. Croix River (/ ˈseɪnt ˈkrɔɪ / SAYNT KROY; French for 'Holy Cross') [3] is a tributary of the Mississippi River, about 169 mi (272 km) long, [4] in the U.S. states of Wisconsin and Minnesota. The lower 125 mi (201 km) of the river form the border between Wisconsin and Minnesota.
By crossing the bridge into St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin two side trips (each approximately one mile) will bring visitors to the St. Croix National Scenic River Visitor’s Center on the north end of St. Croix Falls or to Wisconsin’s Interstate State Park on the south end of the city.
