Career & Specialization. Choosing A Career and Specializations. At this stage, the player chooses his character's career (which remains with the PC permanently) and his starting specialization (which may be only one of many the character undertakes over the course of his story).
Career Skills. Each Career has eight associated Career Skills. These Skills should be checked on the character sheet to indicate they are Career Skills. During play, Career Skills are less expensive to train and improve than non-Career Skills.
Ranked Talents. Many trees have multiple entries for a single Talent. This is because many of the Talents can be learned repeatedly. When a character learns a Talent for the second-or later-time, they gain an additional rank of the Talent.

Careers. Edge of the Empire has six careers, or character types, available to players. The player chooses one career for their character and gains all of the skills associated with that career.
In an Edge of the Empire campaign, bounty hunters, smugglers, mercenaries, and explorers not only rub elbows with doctors, politicians, and scholars, but they find themselves thrust into adventures alongside them.
