Animal crossing is about getting a town / island up to perfection or 5 stars and placing items and flowers around town and making friends.
I think animal crossing is better for interior and exterior decorating but stardew is better if you want to farm and sell crop for profit. You can also date and marry and also go on adventures in the mine.
