The flag of the state of Connecticut is a white baroque shield with three grapevines, each bearing three bunches of purple grapes on a field of royal blue. The banner below the shield reads "Qui Transtulit Sustinet", Latin for "He who transplanted sustains", Connecticut's state motto.

9 Σεπ 2022 · In 1895—after asking the legislature for a state flag to decorate their new meeting space—the Anna Warner Bailey Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) from Groton requested the government adopt an official flag.
On May 29, 1895, over 100 years after Connecticut had become one of the thirteen original colonies, Governor O. William Coffin introduced the first proposal for a state flag to the Connecticut General Assembly.
